CNY & Food

Chinese New Year is the time:

  • when you meet/visit all relatives
  • getting angpows for the unmarried ones
  • gathering with friends
  • gambling non-stop once every year
  • seeing lion dances
  • for ‘loh’ yee-sang
  • drinking & eating non-stop
  • seeing fireworks
  • hearing fire crackers
  • traveling for some
  • catching up movies at cinema (and TV)
  • receiving CNY cards
  • meeting new friends
  • having lots of sweet mandarin oranges

In short, CNY is a time spent for life’s prosperity. Everything got to be abundance, including food. The best yee-sang that I have eaten was at Kin Ma, PGH. The worst one was at one Good Friends, Klang.

And yesterday, finally ate at the renowned seafood restaurant in PJ. Unique? Huh… only for its established name. Packed, but food wise didn’t deliver to my expectation. We ordered only normal dishes and one or two seafood varieties… but, the taste is so-so only. I think there are other restaurants that can cook better than this at a cheaper cost. Stomach and pocket satisfaction guaranteed.

Just a lil’ angpow for you ~ a restaurant that can turn a simple plain dish (i.e fried rice) into tasty, delicious, mouth-watering dish is a good restaurant! Look for that in your next visit to any new restaurant. Cheers.
