Feeling lost

Something not new, at least many friends had sighed about. Hearing more of it at recent. Working life is all I’m talking here. Quitting jobs and hunting for a new one. But that’s how the game should be played. Jobs hopping get you better pay, better benefits.

So, what kind of lost got to do with this?

Work is like boarding an airplane. You set to fly as you enter the workforce. Remember the often asked question during interview; ‘where do you see yourself in 5 years time?’ That’s when you started to work hard, very hard and smart, learn every new thing available, and pick up here and there to master the skills to get you up the ladder.

Then one day, you climbed up. Everyone congratulated on the promotion. Very exciting as it is, knowing all your earlier efforts aren’t wasted. Getting more acquaintance and comfortable with your new seat, steadily flying in the air. No more challenges. Stable journey, and soon you find yourself getting tire and boring up there.

Start thinking for the field greener next door. With the many commitments in hand, are you brave enough to jump off from the plane? Either you get lucky getting a safe landing or you might end up smashed. Lots of thinking required. Lots of courage needed. What is a right choice?

Do you, at times, feeling lost also?

Maybe, you see your friends doing better than you. In MNC companies, earning good figure. Don’t you wished to be like her? Yes, she’s well-paid, giving her spending power on luxuries lifestyle. But considered the amount of works she has to do to get that amount of money. Rushing, last minutes jobs, stress, back to back meetings everyday and politics in big company, stress and shits. Are you really ready for a flight transfer?

Again, do you get the same feeling, lost?

New Home

A68 A68 very nice number. Got 6 and got 8, believed to be ‘ong’ for the Chinese. Only if you are particular. So, here’s a bunch of keys. Opening to a brand new horizon. Another brand new ‘tauhu’ house in the family.

Years passed by, and the new house is here. It’s not easy buying a house, unless you are ready. Makes me wondering how people fork out so much money to buy spacious house and spendthrift on renovations. They probably rich. Otherwise, behind the scene came the suffering - cutting out expenses, to save for the installments. Torturous.

And then when the house is ready, came all the headaches again. Better armed with sum of money for some renovations and fixing the electricity. More money needed to move in, the furnitures and electrical appliances. Ohmigod! I wonder if I’d actually afford that kind of sum one day.  Klcc_view

People buying house for 2 reasons. Either for own staying, or as an investment. Collecting rental or selling it off at a higher value. And with the recent PM decision to drop the real property gains tax, it’s absolutely a cheer for a lot of people. Consider buying a house isn’t a bad idea now…. so start planning!
