Bukit Tabur, Melawati Hiking

Finally, the weather was good last Friday, Saturday – no rainy. And Sunday is damn bloody hot when we get to hike at last, after many postponements.

So, there we go, the Mount K ‘ysyslht’ (yuk sin yuk sei lui hang tuen) team. Five of us, without Tzeny…poor him with his works through the weekend. You better start training Wei Tzen or else…. you know….err…..err…

I believe it was a fun hike for all of us, although this is my third time, but for sure it’s very thrilling for first-timers like James, ar lui, Wai Onn & Khoo. There was some light cursing around… hahahaa… bet, I’ll hear more of ‘em in Mt. K later. Hhmmm….

Ar lui who has been so semangat for the hike, very happy at the beginning point advised that we should come here every week, but already short of breath after five ten minutes walking up. Well, for a first timer is ok though, as I been through that 2 years ago. This third hike, I’m steady. Half way up, going through rocky climbs…. the weekly schedule has been adjusted to fortnightly. And guess what?!! At the end of session when we finally back to the civilization world….she announced that won’t be doing the climb again so soon. Hahahaa… really give me a good laugh man… apalah you ar lui!!!

And today, she changed her mind again. Thinking back, the hike is fun and should be repeated. Afterall, it’s only 2 months away from the real challenge….we need to have you around next trip, Wei Tzen!! We are doing it for you and us, all for one, one for all okie dokie! Ganbatte…oossh!

Here’s our hiking 27/4/08 shots:

Ugly Betty

How can Betty able to speak so much and so fast even with her braces on? Really salute her for putting up the braces just for filming the series. Or maybe is just some gimmick to make her looks like having one.

Third days into my braces, am still getting use to it. There’s no pain during the 2 hours fix. Pain or rather, numb start occurring the following day, when the top part touches the bottom or while brushing outward on the front rows.

Regret or not, there’s no turning back. What helps is to remember that in two to three years time, a beautiful smile for eternity await. Isn’t that worthy? It’s an endurance beauty. Paying so much for such a pain and comes with many sacrifices to make. No hard food, no more soft drinks, no chewy candy, no more my morning dose of coffee…. aaaaaah… I think I can go mad. These few days, am swallowing soft food… so boring process, feel like want to puke after numerous go. Dare not think the forthcoming days…

Perfect smile, gorgeous smile…. thought that keeps me going. Glad that I’m not alone experiencing this, good to have Chris along as she finally decided to take this challenge together. Meanwhile, family is very supportive on me undergoing this course…, their laughter are really good to forgetting myself with braces. My dear friends; do share me more laughs too okay …

Wish me all the brave, huhuhu…..

KL International Marathon

Wow! I couldn’t believe it that I made it. Bravo, bravo!!!

Earlier, I was feeling mixed if to go for the run or not Sunday morning. Feeling a bit lazy since got to attend friend’s open house the night before. Like the saying goes, ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way’.

As the date approaching, I finally decided to game for it with an aim to hopefully able to complete the 10km. I got to take this as part of the endurance fit for my Mount K adventure.

Hardly a good sleep on Saturday, although left the party early. Woke up at 3am plus, leaving home at 4 following brother’s car since he’s running for half marathon, which starts an hour earlier than mine.

Waited there for James, Jenny & Pei Li to arrive. Then all of us got into the barricade waiting for the run. Somehow, we got parted in the kandang, leaving me & Pei Li together. At 7 sharp, our race began. And there I ran so semangat-ly from Dataran Merdeka. About 5 minutes later, my short of breath symptom appeared, hahahaha…. (afterall, the lung function test recently revealed that my lung capacity not that fit for strenuous activity… hmm, or probably am asthmatic-prone since it’s in mum’s family, hope not.)

So I walked a bit, ran a bit throughout. When I’m exhausted, I walked and then run again once recharged. It’s a long journey passing along Istana Negara to Dewan Bahasa Pustaka to Jln Imbi to Pavilion to Jln Sultan Ismail to Jln Raja Chulan to Jln TAR and finally back to Merdeka Square. Phew…

About 1km before the finishing line, finally saw Jenny struggling there. Catching up with her, and there we motivated running towards the end. Completed at a duration of 1 hour 35 minutes,…oops extra 5 minutes from the qualifying time. But guess what?!! We still made it being the first 500 women runners completing the race. Jenny’s 495th and me the lucky 499th placing. Indeed a very happy moment for both of us and for Pei Li & James too who also completed the 10km. Well done to all of us!!!!… Also to my brother, his wife & friends.

I’m proud for myself that once again I create a record for it’s my first run and prove to dad & my brothers who had been teasing me for not able to complete the distance, since I hardly do any jogging with them. Hahahaha….

And now, counting down 85 days more to Mount K….. better get the training started - Bkt Tabur @ Melawati hiking next Sunday ya guys!!

… and just 19 days away for a very gutsy change in life. For a better smile…. say cheeseee *wink*
