My Dream Trip (shhh… don’t wake me up)

Aurora

“Aurora Borealis or the northern lights ~ nature’s own light show, are solar winds that meet the atmosphere in a zone around the magnetic North Pole, forming arches, waves and curls of light moving across the sky, with sudden rays of light shooting down from space.”

I’d love to see them one day, I wish. Knowing its existence and further inspired after watching ‘Last Christmas’ way back, I really hope I can go and see these enchanting curtain of lights. To me, aurora is a kind of world wonder that need to experience at least in a lifetime.

There are a few countries with sights of aurora, but this kind of trip is not cheap. Didn’t know Han is also having the same mindset like mine that he had done some research before. An aurora trip simply costs around US5000, so be prepared for RM20k on this thrifty travel. Hotel alone is already RM3000/nite…*ouuchhh* so hurting.

Although aurora occurs throughout the year, but it’s best visible in dark clear sky. And winter would be the best time to witness this miracle nature. Winter here could range like -50 to -60 degree of coldness. Oh damn, can’t imagine how it will be like in layers after layers thick of winter clothings and still feeling cold. Winter in Korea already quite cold, especially when the wind blows. But if determination is strong for aurora, I think it’s not a problem. What be so unfortunate then is that after spending so much on the trip, aurora is not visible due to unforseen weather. Shittttt!!!

Well, proper planning is really needed for this trip. Being lucky to see it, does matter. But money plays even a significant role. Save, save, save… start saving more vitamins ‘M’ onwards.

It’s one of my dream trip, not sure if it’s going to materialize any sooner. But if there’s a chance, I’ll definitely go for it. For now, enough to having a lil’ satisfaction imagining it’s the real aurora I’ve got on my display & screensaver. Hmmmm… don’t wake me up dreaming, hehehahaha…..

Been fascinated by it since young. It is really an experience if we could see lights dancing in the sky, without knowing that it is actually a harmful ray.

Googled about the trip, and found that there are actually cheaper options, like through the routes from the Scandinavian countries…

Lets plan a trip someday, while we can still stand on solid land watching the divine lights before the icecap melted by global warming. I would prefer a trip to the north. You?
